Receiving a payment

Where to start

Payments are always recorded against a specific loan. Two entry points:

  • Payments tab — shows today's, tomorrow's, and overdue scheduled payments across all your customers. Tap one to go straight into the collect flow.
  • Loan detail — tap a loan card and pick Get payment from the menu.

Both paths open the same form.

Pick an amount

The form doesn't ask you to type the amount from scratch. It offers quick buttons based on the loan's state:

  • Installment / quota — the scheduled installment for this period. The most common choice.
  • Minimum due — just the interest portion. Principal stays untouched.
  • Total due — the principal currently outstanding, without interest.
  • Total due + interest — principal plus interest, to close the loan in one shot.
  • Late fee (mora) — shown only if the loan has accumulated mora.
  • Delayed payment — if you have overdue installments tracked, this pays the oldest one.
  • Other amount — a free-form field. Type any number up to "total + interest".

If you type an amount that covers more than the period's interest, LoanAdmin asks whether the extra goes to interest first or straight to principal. That choice changes the remaining balance and the schedule.

Pick the date

The date picker lets you choose any date from the loan's start up to today. Useful when you collected yesterday and forgot to log it — just backdate. Future-dated payments are not allowed.

Save and share a receipt

On save, you're given four options:

  • WhatsApp — opens a WhatsApp share with a formatted receipt (text + PDF attachment).
  • Share — system share sheet (email, SMS, cloud drive, etc.).
  • Print — sends the receipt to your Bluetooth thermal printer. Only appears if a printer is connected.
  • Skip — close without sharing.

Whatever you pick, the payment is already saved. The share step is optional.

After saving

You return to the Payments tab or to the loan detail (wherever you came from). The loan's pending balance, last-payment row and schedule are all updated. If the payment closed the loan (balance reached zero), it moves from Active to Inactive in the Loans tab.

What we don't ask for

  • No payment method field — we don't currently differentiate cash from transfer from card. Record the amount and date; the method is something you can note in the loan's Comments if you want to track it.
  • No split payments across loans — one payment belongs to one loan. If a customer pays you for two loans at once, record two payments.
