What LoanAdmin does and doesn't do
LoanAdmin is a record keeper and manager for your loans. It helps you keep track of what you lend and what you're paid, but it doesn't handle money. This page makes clear what you can and can't expect from the app, so you don't lose time looking for something that doesn't exist.
What it does
- Stores your customers and their loans, with the amount, interest, frequency and payment dates.
- Calculates installments and shows how much each customer owes, what's pending and what's overdue.
- Records the payments you receive. When a customer pays you in cash, by transfer or any other way, you enter the payment in the app and the balance updates.
- Generates receipts for those payments. See Receipts.
- Calculates late fees if you set them up. See Late fees.
- Gives you reports on your portfolio, depending on your plan.
- Prepares WhatsApp payment reminders on paid plans: the app writes the message and opens WhatsApp, and you send it. See WhatsApp reminders.
- Capital (Professional and Business plans) helps you keep track of the money you have available to lend. It's a record: you enter the amounts yourself. See Capital.
- Team (paid Business plan; not included in the free trial) lets you work with collectors. See Team.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't move money. LoanAdmin doesn't send, receive, hold or transfer money. There's no balance inside the app and nothing to "withdraw".
- It doesn't process your customers' payments. Your customers can't pay you through LoanAdmin: there are no payment links, cards or automatic charges. The payment happens outside the app and you record it.
- It doesn't connect to M-Pesa, Airtel Money, banks, digital wallets or payment processors, on any plan. Paying for a plan unlocks features inside the app, never a payment integration.
- It doesn't contact your customers on its own. It doesn't send SMS or automatic messages. You send WhatsApp reminders yourself, from your own WhatsApp.
- It doesn't lend money or assess your customers. You are the one who lends and decides.
Why doesn't the app's total match my bank account? Because LoanAdmin only knows what you record. If a payment wasn't entered in the app, it doesn't show in the balances, even if the money did reach you.
