PIN, fingerprint or Face ID and automatic lock

LoanAdmin stores sensitive information about your clients. You can have the app lock itself and ask for Face ID, fingerprint or a PIN every time you come back to it. This page explains how to turn it on, what happens if you fail, and how devices and sessions work.

Where to find it

  1. On Home, tap the menu button (☰) at the top right.
  2. Tap Settings, then Security. Security and account access opens.
  3. Tap Login settings.

You can also reach the same screen from Settings › User profile › Security and account access.

Security and account access also has Reset password, which only appears if you sign in with email and password, and Device Management (explained below).

Turn on the lock

  1. Turn on Always request login.
  2. Under Select block time, choose how long the app can stay in the background before asking for access: Immediate, 5 minutes, 10 minutes or 25 minutes. With Immediate, it asks every time you return to the app.
  3. Choose how to unlock: with Use face id or with a PIN.

Use face id uses your phone's biometric unlock: Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone, fingerprint or face on Android. Your phone must have biometrics set up before you turn it on.

PIN: with Face ID off, Set up PIN appears. You type a 5-digit PIN and confirm it.

If you turn off Always request login, Face ID is turned off too and the app stops asking for access.

When the app asks for access

With Face ID: Authentication required appears and your phone asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your fingerprint. If you cancel, the app stays locked: tap Authenticate to try again. If you also set up a PIN, tap Use PIN to unlock with it. If you can't unlock at all, tap Sign out and sign in again with your email, Google or Apple.

With a PIN: type your 5 digits. If you get it wrong, the app tells you how many attempts you have left.

If you fail three times

After 3 failed PIN or Face ID attempts, the app signs you out for security and deletes the data it kept on that phone, including the PIN. That turns the lock off: when you sign back in, turn it on again in Login settings. There is no "forgot my PIN" option: sign in again with your email, Google or Apple. Your clients, loans and payments are stored in your account, so they come back when you sign in.

How many devices you can use

Your plan sets how many devices your account can be signed in on at the same time:

  • Loyalty and accounts without a plan: 1 device.
  • Essential: 2 devices.
  • Professional: 5 devices.
  • Business and the 60-day trial: 10 devices.

If you sign in on one device more than the limit, Device Limit Reached appears. Choose which devices to deactivate and tap Deactivate selected, or tap Upgrade your plan for more devices. Cancel Login leaves without changing anything.

The device you deactivated notices the next time it opens: it shows Session Closed and returns to the sign-in screen.

To see which devices your account is signed in on, go to Security and account access › Device Management. It shows how many devices you use out of your plan's limit, which one is the phone in your hand (marked CURRENT) and the Last Active time of each. To take another device off your account, tap Remove and confirm. The CURRENT device can't be removed from there.

On the web

On loanadmin.app, open Settings → Security:

  • Reset Password: only for email-and-password accounts. It asks for your current password and the new one twice. The new one must have at least 8 characters, with uppercase, lowercase and a number or symbol.
  • Login settings: choose the Session timeout (20 minutes, 1 hour or 4 hours; 1 hour by default). If you don't use the website for that long, you are signed out; we warn you one minute before. This setting is saved per browser.

The website has no PIN or Face ID.
