Notifications and the notification inbox

LoanAdmin notifies you on your phone when you have upcoming collections and when something happens in your account, such as a reply from support. This page explains which notifications exist, what you can set, and where to see them.

Set up collection reminders

Open the menu (☰) → Settings → Notifications (in the Preferences group):

  • Enable Notifications: turns reminders for upcoming payments on or off.
  • Notification Time: tap Change and choose the time you want to receive them. The default is 8:00 AM. Only the hour is used.
  • Notify Before: choose Same day, 1 day before or 3 days before the due date.

These reminders are scheduled by your phone for today's, tomorrow's and upcoming collections, so they go off even without a connection. If a collection is due today and the chosen time has already passed, the reminder appears right away.

Our servers may also send you a collection reminder the day before the due date (or the same day for daily and every-2-days loans), if you opened the app in the last 30 days. That reminder doesn't follow the time or advance notice you chose; you turn it off with Enable Notifications.

On the Essential, Professional and Business plans, and during the 60-day trial, if that reminder falls on a non-working day we move it to the next work day. This is the Send reminders on work days only option in your Work Calendar, which is on by default; you can turn it off there.

Other notifications you may receive

  • Support reply: when we answer your ticket (not sent if you're viewing that ticket at that moment).
  • LoanAdmin announcements: messages from our team.
  • Report ready: when a report finishes generating.
  • Backups and data import: when a backup, restore or import finishes.
  • Finish your setup: if you didn't finish setting up the app when you signed up, we remind you.
  • Team (Business): the owner and admins are notified when a member moves a client or a loan to the trash.

There are no switches per notification type. Enable Notifications only turns off collection reminders; it doesn't turn off the other notifications.

The notification inbox

In Settings → Notifications, tap Notifications to open the inbox:

  • It shows your 5 most recent notifications.
  • Mark all read marks them all as read.
  • Tapping a payment, support, backup or report notification takes you to the matching screen (Payments, Support, Backups or Reports) and removes it from the inbox. Announcements, imports and Team notifications don't open a screen.
  • If you have none, you'll see No notifications yet.

Unread collection reminders also appear as a number on the Payments tab.

If notifications don't arrive

  1. Check that Enable Notifications is on.
  2. Check that your phone allows notifications from LoanAdmin, in the system settings.
  3. Open the app from time to time: server collection reminders are only sent if you opened it in the last 30 days.

If you still don't receive them, open a ticket from the menu (☰) → Help & Support → Create ticket.

The website has no notifications or inbox; they work from the app.
