Currencies, language and country
If you lend in more than one currency, LoanAdmin keeps each loan in its own currency and shows you separate totals. This page explains how to choose your currencies, how amounts are displayed, how to change the language, and what your account's country is used for.
Choose your currencies
- Open the menu (☰) → Settings → Currency & format (in the Preferences group). Currency Settings opens.
- Find a currency in Search currencies… and tap it to add it. Tap it again to remove it.
- Tap the star on the currency you want as your Primary Currency. It's the one suggested by default when you create a loan.
- Tap Save at the top right. You'll see Currency preferences saved.
On the web, go to Settings → Currency Settings.
How many currencies you can use
- Essential: up to 2 currencies.
- Professional: up to 3 currencies.
- Business and the 60-day trial: up to 5 currencies.
Once you reach your plan's limit, you can't add more currencies. If your account has no plan, you can't choose currencies.
Loans in different currencies
- If you have more than one currency, a currency selector appears next to the amount when you create a loan. It uses your Primary Currency by default.
- A loan's currency can't be changed later: when you edit the loan, the field is locked.
- Clients don't have their own currency. The same client can have loans in different currencies.
How totals are shown
LoanAdmin doesn't convert between currencies. Each currency is added up separately:
- In the loan lists and in Payments, totals are broken down by currency.
- Reports include the totals for each currency.
- On Home, if you use more than one currency, buttons with each currency code let you filter the chart and the figures.
Amount format
In Currency & format you can also:
- Turn on Hide .00 decimals, so round amounts appear without
.00. - Choose how many decimals to show, from 0 to 3.
Thousands and decimal separators and the position of the symbol follow your phone's regional settings and each currency. They can't be changed manually.
Language
LoanAdmin is available in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French and Hindi.
- Open the menu (☰) → Settings → Language.
- Choose the language. The change applies instantly.
The language is saved to your account. When you sign up we use your phone's language, but after that the app no longer follows it: if you change your phone's language, change it here too. On the web, go to Settings → Language Settings.
Country
You choose your country when you sign up, in the Currency and country step. We use it to suggest your primary currency. To import holidays in the Work Calendar, the Country code doesn't come from your account's country: in the app it comes from your phone's region, and on the web it starts as US; you can change it before importing.
The app currently has no option to change your account's country after sign-up. If you need to change it, email support@loanadmin.app. The country in your profile address is just part of your address.
